What do you really want for your children? One of the most important things to me is for Hazel to be happy and healthy. Well the best way to help that to happen is to create more fun in your family's life and Donna Bozzo has over 400 simple ideas to help you do this in What the Fun?!
http://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/534352/what-the-fun-by-donna-bozzo/

In this easy to read book Donna tells the reader why fun is important (and even more important than getting them to all those various scheduled activities) and gives very simple and often free ideas to create more fun in your day to day life. There are ideas as simple as having dinner under the table one night to fun science experiments to try at home. She also reminds us that the fun needs to happen for the parents as well and it is important to maintain a fun relationship so date nights are a must as well.

This book comes when our society needs it. We are all so over scheduled and tired that we lose sight of connecting with our kids and having fun. How many of us are busy checking emails or texts when we are with our kids? Donna goes on to tell the reader that forcing fun by planning what we think should be fun (and then being stressed when it is not perfect) is not always fun. Fun can be spontaneous or it can be a simply planned idea. Perhaps having a picnic in your backyard and see where your meal leads you.

The other night Hazel made herself a dark, dark cave by putting some cloths over a card table. She dragged her teddy bears and other toys in there trying to recreate the story of A Dark, Dark Cave we shared with you last week. That night Steve said he was not hungry for dinner so I made something quick for me and Hazel and I let her eat in her dark, dark cave/fort. I sat in the same room and ate with her, but didn't fit under the table with all her extras.
She was so excited to be able to eat in there. She thought it was wonderful. It was a simple way to bring fun to our day. She still talks about the time we ordered pizza when we had no power and ate it in the family room as a picnic and that was years ago!! These little fun times are memories that stick for our kids and I know I want to create more of them for Hazel. What the Fun?! helps me do that with so many great ideas. I hope you will check it out. It also has inspired me to run a new series this summer: Summertime Fun!! Keep an eye out for this button for some more easy ways to bring fun into your day to day lives this summer!
