Learn to Draw Calligraphy Nature -- Crafty Weekends Review & Link Party

Disclosure: I was sent this book to review free of charge from Quarto Books USA. All opinions in this post are my own. I did not receive any other compensation for this review. I am including links to each item for your convenience but do not receive anything if you purchase them.

Today I am sharing a book that shows how to use a calligraphy pen to make nature pictures. The book is Learn to Draw Calligraphy Nature by Andrew Fox.
https://www.quartoknows.com/books/9781631061769/Learn-to-Draw-Calligraphy-Nature.html

This book comes with everything you need to get started. There are pieces of white cover weight papers and a black calligraphy pen inside the book. The instructions or rather pictures are easy to follow. The book is divided into three sections: Plants, Bugs and Animals.
It took some practicing since I haven't done any calligraphy in quite awhile and I wished the pen's tip was broader, but they were very easy to make (well except for the acorn which was the very first thing I tried).

I also struggled a bit with the butterfly because the pen was not broad enough.

When Hazel saw them this morning she wanted to try them. She was able to follow the directions with a bit of help. She hasn't done anything with her calligraphy pen in a very long while and forgot how it worked. I didn't take pictures of any of hers though.

Overall this I found this book fun and it made drawing pretty easy. Drawing is not my strong point so I found it very exciting!! We really had fun with it and hope you will check it out.
