Advent, Christmas and a Tea Party Crafts & More! -- a Crafty Weekend Review & Link Party

Disclosure: I was sent these items to review free of charge from Oriental Trading. All opinions in this post are my own. I did not receive any other compensation for this review. I am including links to each item for your convenience but do not receive anything if you purchase them.

We are getting ready for our busy December which includes Advent (which starts next Sunday), Christmas and Hazel's birthday. Hazel decided she wants a fairy tea party this year for her birthday party. We recently received a few products from Oriental Trading to help get ready for all three things. We will go in order starting with Advent.

Advent

I fell in love with this Advent Candle Holder and had to get myself one. It is not really a craft but I just love it.

We looked through the Christmas crafts and found the Nativity Stacked Ornament Craft Kit. Hazel and I made these two. I loved how the words were the same themes of the Advent weeks. Hazel is going to make these for her teachers this year as part of their Christmas gifts. The only thing I do not like is how the words show under the baby from the backing. We could not turn them around to be on the back because of how the pieces were cut. They are self sticking and easy to make.

For our Advent calendar I got this  DIY Mini Nativity Set. I will put a piece in each door and have fourteen of the twenty-four surprises done.

Christmas

To continue with our Christmas crafts we also made these Nativity Scene Necklace Craft Kits. We made some and kept a couple and donated the rest to the Sunday School at our church. The kids always love making beaded projects there.

We made this snow globe from a recycled fruit salad container, artificial snow, small toy animals and Medium Green Frosted Sisal Trees  that I found searching Trees at Oriental Trading. I got them thinking we would use them to make fairy gardens at the birthday party, but liked this look as well.

My big find was these Mini Star Wreaths. I picked them not knowing what we would do with them, but we have had so many ideas and Hazel keeps thinking of more. She suggested adding the jingle bells to some.
We used some to frame pictures and make them into Christmas ornaments.

We also will use some as just ornaments, but we also thought about adding sayings to them.

Hazel thought of covering them with glitter as well. I made this print to put in it but have not cut it out yet. I will hot glue it to the back of the wreath.

Fairy Tea Party

We are also going to make some fairy star decorations to hang from the ceiling. I covered one in tulle and tied ribbons to the end. I also found some various fairy sayings and star sayings.

Sorry my camera did not do a great job with the sparkles in the picture. Click here to download your own copy. I used a white star to mark the stars on the printable and cut them out. I will trace the star onto a glittery paper to back the printable ones. I printed them out on cardstock as well. I will glue the paper stars backs to each other and then hot glue them to the tulle lined stars.

We are thinking we will hang them in our "enchanted forest" or give them as favors.

To enter our "enchanted forest" we are going to hang the Paper Butterfly Hanging Door Curtain (I didn't open it all so it won't get tangled before the party) so the girls will have to walk through the butterflies to enter the magical place. We have plans to make fairy gardens and will use some of the Medium Green Sisal Trees shown above.

Since we are having a fairy tea party we are going to have a table set up for the tea party. We have the Tea Party Letter on Marabou Banner to hang above the table.

Hazel fell in love with these Tea Party Novelty Cups and really wanted them. I personally love that they are covered so we can serve the girls iced tea or punch in them and not worry about spills in our family room.

Needless to say we are loving all the crafts and items from Oriental Trading and stay tuned for more fairy crafts as we get closer to the party!!
