Non-Scary Halloween Part 2 -- Non-Scary Costumes

Disclosure: I was sent these items to review free of charge from Oriental Trading. All opinions in this post are my own. I did not receive any other compensation for this review.

Yesterday I shared some great products from Oriental Trading for a Peanuts themed Halloween party, non-food treats and a few dress-up accessories. Today I get to share Hazel's costume and some other great costume ideas and fun. Now Hazel spent quite a bit of time going through the available costumes at Oriental Trading. Being the sensitive child she is she does not want anything remotely scary. She got it down between two options the Mystical Genie Girls Halloween Costume and the Southern Belle Girls Halloween Costume. She finally decided on the Mystical Genie Costume. We had just seen Aladdin live at the theatre and the version had a female genie who was dressed pretty similarly. (She did ask for the Southern Belle Costume for Christmas from my mother-in-law and I ordered it for her.)
We did agree was she would have to wear something under the costume. She agreed since she does not like her belly showing either. She also loves how comfortable the pants are!! She claims they are the most comfortable pants she has ever worn. She was really excited to also get the Genie Lamp to go with her costume. She is thinking she will carry it, and I will carry her treat bag. She is also using it in her creative play. Currently it is on her receptionist desk to her Teddy Bear Doctor Office.  It is filled with pompoms. I'm not sure if they are for the genie living inside or medicine being kept for the stuffed animals.

She wanted me to get a costume as well, but then she decided she really wanted the Child's Nativity Hat to match the gown we got last year for her Queen Esther costume. She likes to wear the gown and pretend to be the Virgin Mary around Christmas time. I was once told that a few decades ago Mary would be shown in pink and not blue. Hazel decided to go with that since she loves pink!!

She also wanted the Unicorn Tail which goes with the Unicorn Headband we got over the summer. This will be great for her enchanted forest/fairy birthday party as well.

The final thing we got was a package of Costume Props to take photos looking like jack-'o-lanterns. I put them out on a plastic orange tablecloth folded into fourths. I am considering carrying one of these for trick-or-treating. What do you think?

They will also be great for Hazel's Peanuts themed Halloween party. We can take a picture of the kids in our Pumpkin Patch. Won't this be fun?

What are your kids going to be for Halloween? If they don't have costumes yet, be sure to check out the great ones at Oriental Trading!!
